Overview
Menu Bar Meeting Manager (the “App”) is a macOS menu bar application from Kram Industries. It shows upcoming meetings and provides quick access to supported meeting links. This policy explains how the App accesses, uses, stores, and shares Google user data.
Google data the App accesses
After you choose to connect a Google account, the App requests read-only Google Calendar access. It accesses calendar event titles, start and end times, locations, attendee lists, meeting URLs, and the email address identifying the connected calendar account.
The App cannot create, modify, or delete Google Calendar events.
How Google data is used
Calendar data is used exclusively to display current and upcoming meetings, show relevant meeting details, notify you of upcoming meetings when enabled, and provide quick access to meeting links.
Data protection and security
Menu Bar Meeting Manager uses technical safeguards designed to protect sensitive Google user data against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and loss:
- Encryption in transit: the App communicates with Google’s OAuth and Calendar API endpoints only over HTTPS using TLS.
- Least-privilege access: the App requests only read-only Google Calendar permission and cannot create, modify, or delete calendar events.
- Sandboxed local storage: calendar data is cached only inside the App’s macOS App Sandbox, where macOS access controls isolate it from other sandboxed applications. Kram Industries does not operate a server that receives or stores Google Calendar data.
- Protected credentials: OAuth access and refresh tokens are stored as app-owned, device-only items in macOS Keychain, which encrypts and controls access to credential data. Tokens are used solely to authenticate requests to Google and are never sent to Kram Industries or Sentry.
- Data minimization: Google user data is used only on the user’s Mac to provide the calendar features described in this policy. The App does not use Google user data for advertising, analytics, profiling, or AI/model training.
- Diagnostic separation: calendar contents, account addresses, meeting links, and OAuth credentials are excluded from Sentry reports and are redacted from application diagnostics.
Users should keep macOS updated, protect their Mac account with a strong password, and may enable FileVault for full-disk encryption. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but Kram Industries limits access and collection to reduce exposure.
Diagnostics
The App uses Sentry to receive crash reports and limited technical diagnostics so Kram Industries can identify and fix reliability problems. Reports may include the App version, macOS version, device model, stack trace, and broad error categories.
Diagnostic reports do not include Google Calendar contents, event titles, attendee addresses, locations, meeting links, Google OAuth tokens or authorization codes, account email addresses, screenshots, or recordings. Product analytics, performance tracing, and automatic network capture are disabled. Sentry processes diagnostics on behalf of Kram Industries under the Sentry Privacy Policy.
Sharing and disclosure
Kram Industries does not sell, rent, share, or use Google user data for advertising. Google user data is not sent to Sentry. The App communicates directly with Google Calendar to provide the features you request. Google’s own handling of data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
Google API Services User Data Policy
Menu Bar Meeting Manager’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Your choices and deletion
You can disconnect Google Calendar from the App’s settings at any time. Disconnecting stops calendar display and reminders, deletes local credentials, and requests Google token revocation. If local credential deletion fails, the App displays an error and lets you retry. Remote revocation requires a network connection. You can also revoke access from your Google Account permissions.
Disconnect successfully before uninstalling to remove app-owned Keychain tokens. macOS may retain application-container data and Keychain items after uninstalling. Removing the App is not a guarantee of deleting all local data or copies in backups.
Children’s privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13, and Kram Industries does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
This policy may be updated as the App changes. The effective date at the top of this page will identify the latest revision.
